Computer integrated systems design and motor service control

The motor is booked in. The bench keeps the record. HOIST

ELECTRO CHEVAL (S) PTE. LTD. runs a stable bay workshop at 60 Kaki Bukit Place, #04-07 Eunos Techpark, Singapore 415979, Singapore (SG), where every motor arrives with an intake tag and leaves with a signed handover note. The bay is deliberately quiet in its routines: motors are lifted on the chain block, lowered onto the trestle, and worked through a fixed bench sheet that follows the unit from the first inspection to the collection sitting. A stable bay workshop built around the bench sheet

Electro Cheval describes this workshop as a stable bay rather than a control room. A control room watches numbers; a stable bay handles an animal, and a motor behaves like one. It comes in hot, it comes in noisy, it comes in with a rumble that the operator cannot place. ELECTRO CHEVAL (S) PTE. LTD. keeps a row of stall doors by the entrance, and each booked motor is assigned a bay, a tag, and a bench sheet that stays on the trestle beside it until collection.

The work is computer integrated systems design in practice: the tags are logged, the bench sheets are tracked, and the handover notes are matched against the intake tags before a motor is released. There is no anonymous drop-off and no anonymous pick-up. The client receives a written record of what was observed, what was measured, and what was handed back. Our team works to a fixed sequence so that a motor never drifts between bays without a note in the file.

Six services on the foreman board

Every motor passes through the same six stations, and each station leaves a mark on the same bench sheet. The letter marks below are irregular on purpose: they follow the order the foreman calls out, not a neat sequence.

E

Intake Tag Bays

The intake tag bay is the first stall a motor sees. A technician records the frame size, the shaft condition, the terminal arrangement, and the reason given for the booking, then ties a brass tag to the terminal box. Every tag is photographed and entered into the workshop log before the motor is lifted. See the intake tag bay details.

C

Bench Sheet Runs

A bench sheet run is the working record that travels with the motor through every station. It carries the readings taken on the trestle, the parts moved, and the observations that did not fit a standard field. See how bench sheet runs are kept.

S

Handover Note Desks

At the handover note desk, the completed bench sheet is read back to the client in plain language. The note lists what was found, what was done, and what the client should watch for in the next operating cycle. See the handover note desk in detail.

P

Load Test Windows

Load test windows are scheduled periods when the motor is run under a controlled load and its behaviour is recorded against the stated duty. The window is booked rather than improvised, so the test equipment is prepared and the readings are taken by the same technician who will sign the note. See how load test windows are booked.

L

Winding Review Rounds

A winding review round is a structured walk through the windings with the bench sheet open. Each phase is inspected, compared against the intake readings, and noted before the motor is returned to the trestle. See the winding review rounds.

T

Collection Sittings

Collection sittings are the final stall visit. The client opens the handover note at the desk, the motor is lowered beside the door, and the tag is signed off. Nothing leaves the stable bay without a matched tag and note. See how collection sittings work.

ELECTRO CHEVAL (S) PTE. LTD. opens its collection window at the Eunos workshop whenever a matched tag and handover note are ready, and the client is always called before the motor is moved to the door.

What the Eunos workshop actually does

The shop floor is arranged as a short run of bays rather than a long corridor. Motors sit on trestles under the hoist rail, and the wall behind them holds the fork rack, the cable hook, and the drain grate. Because the bays are close together, a technician can move from a winding review round to a load test window without losing the thread of the bench sheet. The foreman keeps the active board on the bench sheet table, and the board is the single source of truth for where each motor stands.

Most bookings arrive from facilities teams, machine builders, and maintenance contractors who need a motor examined without pulling the whole line down. The intake tag bay is designed for that: the tag is written while the client waits, and the motor is lifted straight to a free trestle. From there the bench sheet run begins, and the client receives the tag number by email at the contact address on file. When the motor reaches the handover note desk, the same tag number is used to close the file, so the two ends of the job always agree.

Electro Cheval treats the workshop record as the product. The physical work on the motor matters, but what the client takes away is a document that explains the work in plain terms and lists the readings that support it. That is why the bench sheet carries letter marks instead of a neat numbered sequence, and why the handover note desk is a separate station rather than a footnote at the counter.

How a booking moves from door to door

Step one: the intake tag

A booking is confirmed against a free trestle, and the intake tag is written before the motor is lifted. The tag records the client reference, the frame details, and the stated fault. If the fault is unclear, the tag says so, and the bench sheet starts with an open question rather than a guess.

Step two: the bench sheet run

The bench sheet is opened in the bay and stays beside the motor. Every observation, part, and reading is added in order. A motor that moves from the trestle to the test window and back keeps the same sheet, with the movement noted at the time it happened.

Step three: the handover note

The handover note is written at the desk from the completed bench sheet. It is short, direct, and free of jargon where plain wording will do. The client is walked through it before the collection sitting, and any question is answered against the bench sheet rather than from memory.

Step four: the collection sitting

At the collection sitting the motor is lowered beside the stall door, the tag is checked against the note, and the file is closed. The client leaves with a copy of the handover note and the tag number for future reference.

Why the workshop keeps a stable bay

A motor that comes in with a fault is often described by the person who uses it in the language of the machine, not the language of the laboratory. It squeals, it smells, it trips the breaker, it will not start cold. The stable bay approach lets the intake tag capture that language first and then translate it into readings on the bench sheet. The translation is the work, and it is done on the floor rather than at a desk.

The fork rack on the wall is not decoration. It holds the hand tools used in winding review rounds and load test windows, and each tool has a place so that a missing tool is noticed before a motor is opened. The cable hook carries the tested lead, and the drain grate sits under the trestle for the wash-down that follows a heavy intake. Every part of the bay has a job, and the bay is kept clean enough that a misplaced tag is obvious at a glance.

Clients who return a motor a second time are given the previous tag number, and the bench sheet is reopened with the old note attached. That continuity is the reason the workshop stores records by tag rather than by date. A motor with a history is easier to read than a motor with none, and the stable bay is built to keep that history intact.

Bring the motor to the stall door and we will write the tag
